Hidden water leaks can destroy your home from the inside out. Here is how to spot them early.
Signs of a Hidden Leak
- Unexplained spikes in your water bill
- Musty odors in specific rooms or cabinets
- Warm spots on your floor (slab leak)
- Peeling paint or bubbling wallpaper
- The sound of running water when fixtures are off
The Water Meter Test
Turn off all water inside and outside your home. Go to your water meter and look at the leak indicator (a small triangle or dial). If it's moving, you have a leak.
